Successful Power Play Golf Launch

On Friday 20 April 2012 we had a very successful Power Play Golf day and launch of the NEW and more difficult Mashie course. Many thanks to all the players and media for attending the event. Dale Hayes also entertained us with his amazing trick shot!

“We are thrilled to present PowerPlay golf on our short course at The River Club. Golfers will enjoy this exciting, different and interesting form of playing golf, which is perfect for players of any level,” says Terry Dickinson, director of The River Club.

This new form of golf requires a strategic and tactical approach and is perfect for attack-minded golfers of all ages.   Power Play is played over nine holes. Each hole features two flags on the green, with the Power Play flag being in the most difficult possible position and the other flag being placed in a simpler position. Prior to the round, four compulsory Power Play holes are chosen by the player, all of which consist of playing off a more difficult tee to the most challenging flag position, rewarding the accurate golfer and punishing the golfer with a lapse in concentration. The 9th hole is a potential gamble - if you are ahead, beware, minus points could be a possibility.
